Well it's finally February which means it is time for me to check in with you on how I did with my goals from January.....I can sum things up in one word: FAIL
Goal #1-Read my Bible daily & set aside a special time in prayer .
I never did end up enrolling in that study at church. :( However, as for reading the Bible daily, I am trying really hard to work on this. I am part of an accountability group that shares the Word with each other daily. It has really has been a blessing and I have learned so much. I am not so good on the weekends and need a little more discipline to spend time in the Word and in prayer on these days.
Goal #2- Do a weekly post on the blog.
Does it count that I have been writing in my pregnancy journal blog? Honestly, going back to work after a two week vacation really threw me for a loop. Not to mention the fact that due to the pregnancy all I wanted to do was sleep when I got home. So many things I wish I had written. I really wish I would have done better.
Goal # 3-Use cash for all our spending.
Let's not sugarcoat this one. I never even made it to the bank. :(
Ok, well can we all agree I got three goals that need working on? Let's try again and see how I do this month!

Cupcake Wars
I have recently become enamored with the idea of cupcakes and making them for all kinds of occasions. I have this scenario I play in my head that I am headed over to my friend's baby's first birthday and before I go I decide to whip up these really yummy chocolate filled cupcakes with some ganache frosting and not to mention that they are just over the top beautiful. Well upon arrival, everyone is just so impressed with the cupcakes, I become an instant hit, building a reputation as a cupcake genius.
So of course my new dream is to be on cupcake wars. And one day I will be. Even if only in my kitchen, as I make my friend's birthday cupcakes, Jeremy my baking assistant helping me pour the batter into the liners, creating a huge mess causing me to kick him out of the kitchen, me standing before Jeremy the judge telling me my cupcakes are awesomely moist but sloppily frosted.......
Ok, Ok, you caught me....I play cupcake wars in the kitchen. And though Jeremy will probably scold me later for telling you he humored me by somewhat playing along during my most recent episode, I am just so blessed to have a husband that helps makes my dreams come true.

New Year, New Blog Resolution
So with the new year coming, I am making monthly resoltutions in hope that I might be able to stick to them given that it easier to tell myself that I only got a month to work through as opposed to a whole year. So periodically, well monthly, I am going to post my goals for the month. My hope is that every month I will accomplish my month goals and continue them as I try on new goals. So here goes my first 3 goals of the years.........
1.-Read my Bible daily & set aside a special time in prayer . I am starting a new study at church this week and hopefully that will give me a better set plan than what I am doing now.
2.- Do a weekly post on the blog. I love writing about our life and am so excited about the idea of having a personal family journal to pass down to our future kids one day (Yes, they are going to want to read it!) I am hoping to add more and document more of our lives. Oh! Our kids are going to be so grateful! ;)
3.-Use cash for all our spending. With us sharing an account, things can get a little crazy since we are not good about writing everything down and this debit card thing is just not working for us. We are trying real hard to get in financial shape so I am hoping this tactic will do us good.
Those are my goals for the month. I hope to report good things next month and not pretend I never said anything like I did at one point about exercising in one of this summer's blog.
And check in weekly if you would like, there should be a post waiting just for you to read :)
