The trees are turning rainbow!

It is beautiful up here in Washington.....it's turning rainbow and I love it! I don't remember the trees looking like this down in San Diego. But to be honest, I don't think I paid too much attention to it. I think it is really obvious here though because there are so many trees everywhere.

These pictures are from the frisbee golf course in Auburn. Jeremy, Justin (our cousin from Jeremy's side), Baloo and I went Sunday after church. and though I started playing at first, there were a lot of dogs around so I had to keep my eye on Baloo, not to mention, I kept stopping to take pictures. Jeremy thought I was silly for being so fascinated with the leaves. But just take a look....isn't beautiful?

Baloo was fascinated, smelling every little bit of dirt, and chasing the leaves that fell from the trees.

"Just be Happy"---Jeremy

Well I am starting something new and I hope I can keep it up. As some of you may know, I am a big time worrier and have a hard time staying positive. I tend to be the person to see the cup as half-empty. Needless to say, this is not a very healthy way to live. Most importantly however, I feel that this is not the way God wants me to live. He has great love and plans for me. Nothing in life is ever easy but if He is on my side, what do I have to fear? I will have good times and during those times where things are not so good, God is there next to me, helping me get through it and come out victorious. I may not understand what or why things happen but I need to remember that God has a purpose for everything and....
for this reason, I will continue reporting about our little life adventures but make an effort to use this blog to show others and overall myself on just how blessed we are. I normally don't tend to write unless something fun happened. Although I will probably continue to do mostly that (since I am sure blogging about how my Thursday cleaning day went wont really be too entertaining) I am also going to make an effort to write about other things as well....like how I have a new passion for being "green" and the fun things that it entails, or my bus riding adventures. In life not everything is the funnest, but I am sure that we can always find joy or humor in every situation.
I remember once when Jeremy and I were still just becoming friends, he commented that I seemed sad a lot. He told me he had figured out how to stay positive. "Well what is your big secret Jeremy?" I asked. To which he simply answered "Just be Happy" I laughed a long time at that, thinking it was ridiculous. Wow...so profound...NOT! If I could be happy I would. Life just did not seem to be fair to me. Well its taken me awhile to get it and as crazy as it sounds....he definitely was on to something. Joy is not based on circumstance. Happiness is a choice. Life will not be easy but it is up to me to see the gift of life God gives everyday and make the most of it. "A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones." ---Proverbs 17:22

So if you are interested check back and read all about God's blessings in our lives....and why He is always giving us a reason to smile :)

SAFECO field

I can't believe we lived in Texas and never went to see the Cowboys, Rangers, Spurs, Texans, Rockets, Astros, Mavericks, or even the Aggies or Longhorns play. They had some pretty awesome sports teams there and we just never went. Well we want to make sure we don't make that mistake here so last Wednesday, we made a trip to see the Seattle Mariners play at Safeco field. In all honestly, the main reason we went was because Jeremy got some free tickets from work. I am sure if we got free tickets in Texas, then we probably would have made the trip too but I am getting off topic here....

Jeremy was so excited to go since his hometown team, the Oakland A's were playing the Mariners as well as getting to see"his favorite baseball player of all time" Ken Griffey who is on the Mariners. We got there early for batting practice and that was a fun experience for me because I don't think I have ever seen the beginning of a game :) jeremy was hoping to get Griffey's autograph and maybe even catch a ball. we got neither but I got the autograph of #53 who is a pitcher for the Mariners. I honestly had no idea who he was when I went up to him but I hoped maybe he would be famous one day so I got in anyway.
We had a lot of fun at the game. Spent way too much money on food that wasn't even that good. Cheered for the home team just to tease Jeremy. And froze as we watched the game from our free nosebleed seats. Got to love baseball. Next stop Qwest field to watch the Seahawks play some football.

Visitors!

A couple of weeks ago we had some more visitors! Jeremy's brother Chris and his wife Angie came down for the weekend. We had a good time. Saw Seattle again....this time some different parts which was fun. Me and Jeremy acted like we knew everything about it even though we had only been there once. My favorite part of this trip was taking a trip to the original Starbucks. Angie works at one in Salinas so we had to make sure she got to see it. We were only there for a little awhile and pretty much spent the rest of the weekend at home just having fun with family. I love when family and friends visit! Still waiting for all you to visit!
